Who we are
Giving back to the community

Wherever possible we like to give something back to the communities in which we both live and work. We do this as an organisation and as individuals. Some of the things we are doing are detailed below. If you would like to know more about any of these initiatives, please email katherine.woolf@squarepeg.com.

We were recently called upon by the North & West Africa Business Unit of the Coca-Cola Company to help plan and facilitate a major Business Unit meeting in Luxor, Egypt. The objective was to launch two new key strategic initiatives. Our task was to design and facilitate a meeting that swiftly built understanding, passion and engagement across a team of 180 people presenting 28 different countries – from Egyptians to Nigerians. As part of the Coca-Cola Company’s commitment to local Communities, the whole group volunteered time and resources to refurbish a Luxor primary school. Square Peg’s Phoebe Dunn was proud to participate in this brilliantly worthwhile activity, which fits well with Square Peg’s giving back to the African communities where we operate.

Raising and donating funds
Square Peg associates are committed to giving back to the communities in which we operate and over the past year have:

• Organised and funded events including:
  – a wine tasting in support of the Royal Marsden hospital, and
  – a bonfire event in support of local Dorking charities.

• Run in the Windsor Half Marathon in aid of a large African charity.
• Women’s 5km ‘fun run’ in aid of Cancer Research UK.
• Three Peaks Challenge in aid of a large African charity.

• Donated funds to:
  – the Brooke charity working in India, and
  – the Starfish Foundation supporting developing communities in Africa.

‘Pro bono’ work
One of our Square Peg associates, Chris White, has been seconded to a large African charity
foundation for 50% of his time over the next year. Senior Consultant, Phoebe Dunn also supports VSO on a regular basis with her recruitment expertise. This type of commitment to giving back clearly reflects the integrity and values of our emerging organisation.
